ABOUT

The Connecticut River is the only river to be designated a National Blueway by the US Interior Department.  The National Blueway designation is intended to support local conservation, recreation and restoration efforts.

The Connecticut River also is designated an American Heritage River by the US Environmental Protection Agency.  Rivers are selected for this designation due to their natural, scenic, historic or recreational resources that make them distinctive or unique.

Any person who has spent time on the lower Connecticut River can attest to what a magnificent, special place it is.

On Brockway Island you can experience and enjoy your own private island setting.  The fully equipped three bedroom house provides all the comforts of home but is totally off the grid, powered by a solar/generator energy system.

Visit anytime from springtime when you can experience hundreds of daffodils blooming in the natural green lawn or late summer when the water is warm and swimming and sailing are at their best.

Convenient to many marinas and public boat launches, this experience is available only to those who can navigate themselves to the island so a boat is necessary.

Enjoy beautiful views of the lower Connecticut River Valley where sandy beaches surround the island.  Experience swimming, fishing, exploring and boating at its best.  Brockway Island is only five miles from the mouth of the Connecticut River where exciting salt water fishing in Long Island Sound awaits.

Brockway Island is also a licensed seaplane base known as Fetske Seaplane Base, Essex.

The island is available for rental on a weekly basis for the spring, summer and fall months.  For more information, please contact our office.
